Thanks to a very generous donor, the charity was able to fund one hundred educational packages which were distributed to children from the three most marginalized ethnic minority groups (Chepang, Tamang and Magar) who live in the most remote, isolated areas of Makwanpur.
This project was identified and coordinated by Mr Anil Deoja, without his knowledge and experience it would not have been possible to reach those children most in need. We are extremely grateful to him for all his hard work in making this possible.
Education is one of the strongest weapons to combat poverty, and according to Article 28 of the United Nations Convention on Rights of the Child (UNCRC) should ideally be a right not a privilege for all children, no matter where they are born or their social-ecomonic status.
In Nepal children are not able to attend schools without educational materials.
One hundred children (all under the age of 12yrs) from three Primary schools received school supplies i.e. school uniform, pair of black sneakers, packet of pencils including sharpener and eraser. Students above class three also received a packet of ballpoint pens. Students of class two and above receivedexercise books and a backpack (with our logo) was provided to everyone.
