A school counselling room has been established in the large school in Namtar (900 pupils) where they already had on staff a school nurse and a counsellor. They are using the materials provided by NEPAL-ease including audio visual aids and books. It was clear when we visited in March 2023 that the room was well used and the staff knowledgeable and professional in their work. Due to the success of this project, the charity has recently funded a second counselling area in a large secondary school in Makwampur.

Objectives of the Counselling Corners are to provide a range of services to students including : confidential counselling, health and sex education, social interaction and mental wellbeing. To help achieve these aim, the charity funded the refurbishment of a room as well as purchasing the following items: smart TV for displaying educational videos and messages, book rack and information booklets as well as WASH Toolkits containing essential hygiene items such as sanitary pads, soap and other personal care products.
